Parque Nacional Natural de los Nevados

Ubicado en medio de la Cordillera Central, en los Andes Colombianos, este Parque concentra una cadena de enormes conos volcánicos con altitudes superiores a los 5.ooo metros, que presentan todo el año nieves eternas en medio de una región predominantemente tropical. Los nevados del Ruiz, Santa Isabel y Tolima son las principales cumbres y todos los años convocan a miles de visitantes.
En el parque domina el paisaje conocido en Colombia como "páramo", piso térmico caracterizado por temperaturas bajas, entre los 13 y 4 grados Celsius. La vegetación típica esta formada por plantas adptadas al frío, como la puya, y la Palma de Cera, que crece en algunos sectores. Entre la fauna destaca el tapir y el oso de anteojos, única especie sudamericana de úrsidos, ambos en peligro de extinción.
En los meses de abril y mayo se encuentra la temporada lluviosa. En los meses de enero, febrero, julio y agosto es verano, la época más propicia para visitar este bellísimo lugar.

Located in the middle of the Central Mountain chain, in the Colombian Andes, this park concetrates a chain of enormous volvanics cones wtih altitudes superior to them 5.000 meters, wich present all the year round eternal snow in the middle of a predominantly tropical region. The snow-capped mountains of the Ruiz, Santa Isabel and Tolima are the principal summits and every year call for thousands of visitors.
In the park it dominates the landscape known in Colombia as "páramo", thermal floor characterized by low temperatures, between 13 or 14 degress Celsius. Typical vegetation is formed by plants adapted to the cold, as the goad, and the "Palma de Cera"( palm of wax), wich grows in some sectors. Between the fauna stands out the tapir and the bear of sepctacles, the only South American species of úrsido.
In April and May one finds the rainy season. In January, February, July and August it is a summer, the most propitious epoch to visit this most beatiful place.

Know Quindío, Colombia's Green Heart

Realize a complete trip for the Quindío and the departments of the so called (Eje cafetero) coffee Axis, region of Colombia that possesses dazzling landscapes, attractive cities and that it supports live through the culture of his inhabitants, the "paisas". The tours to realizing are the following ones:

· Tour in rafts of guadua, a species of giant bamboo, to the style rafting for the river La Vieja (The Old woman), the only experience in which the exhuberante will know natural vegetation of one of the principal courses of water of the Quindío,

· Walk to the thermal waters of Santa Rosa.

· Visits to the Parque de los Nevados (Park of the Snow-capped mountains), region where there are located the principal volcanoes of the region (Quindío Ruiz, Holy Isabel, Risaralda and Tolima) by his impressive covered with snow cones, which form principal heights of the Central Mountain chain,, Walk to the thermal waters of Santa Rosa.

· Visits to the Valle del Cocora, beautiful natural monument located in the heights, where there grows the humid forest of mountain and the beautiful palm of wax, tree national emblem of Colombia,

· Visits to the Parque del Café (Park of the Coffee), where it will be able to know the diverse varieties of coffee and his process of production stepwise, and to the National Agricultural Park, Panaca,

· Crossed by a coffee estate and a trapiche, establishment where the sugar cane is processed to make the "panela", the endulzante most used in Colombia.

Heliconia rostrat

La Heliconia rostrata, también conocida como patujú, es una especie abundante en el Quindío,Colombia. Es, también, una de las dos flores nacionales de Bolivia. Es planta endémica en Belice, Guatemala, Honduras, Panamá, Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, Ecuador,Paraguay, Perú.

Los recorridos a realizar son los siguientes:

1. Recorrido en balsas de guadua, una especie de bambú gigante , al estilo rafting por el río La Vieja, una experiencia única en la que conocerá la exhuberante vegetación natural de uno de los principales cursos de agua del Quindío,


2. Paseo a las aguas termales de Santa Rosa.


3. Visita al Parque de los Nevados, región donde se ubican los principales volcanes de la región (Quindío, Ruiz, Santa Isabel, Risaralda y Tolima) con sus impresionantes conos nevados, que forman la principales alturas de la Cordillera Central


4. Visita al valle de Cocora, hermoso monumento natural ubicado en las alturas, donde crece el bosque húmedo de montaña y la hermosa palma de cera, árbol emblema nacional de Colombia,


5. Visita al Parque del Café, donde podrá conocer las diversas variedades de café y su proceso de elaboración paso a paso, y al Parque Nacional Agropecuario, Panaca,


6. Recorrido por una finca cafetera y un trapiche, establecimiento donde se procesa la caña de azúcar para fabricar la “panela”, el endulzante más usado en Colombia y en la región,
